  • March Meeting of the Christopher Morley Pipe Club in Philly: Thurs., March 21st

    Gentlemen and Ladies,

    Our March meeting will be Thursday March 21t @ 7:00 PM.  Pen and Pencil Club.  1522 Latimer Street. 

    We will have a few more contests this year.  I'll need a little help from our members for ideas.  So come out on the 21st!  The New York show will have been on the 9th of March and I am sure I will have some goodies to share.

  • We have a winner!

    The Christopher Morley Pipe Club in Philadelphia celebrated IPSD on February 20th with an Ugly Pipe Contest. Originally suggested as a "most loved pipe" contest in honor of the recent Valentine's Day, the club humor quickly modified it to "Bring your most ugly pipe and win a prize!"

    Bruce's mother generously donated a lovely hand-crocheted lap blanket as the prize, and several truly ugly pipes were in the running, requiring multiple rounds of voting. Beating out a pipe with a fowl appendage (pardon the pun - it was a chicken foot!) in the last round of voting, Steve's Frankenstein-like creation of a pipe (acquired in this condition) was the ultimate winner. Photo shows the proud winner with his ugly pipe and his beautiful prize.

  • Memorial Service for Steve Gatschet

    Dear fellow pipe smokers,

    The Memorial Service for our friend and Club Secretary, Steve Gatschet, who passed away in June will be held on Tuesday, September 25th, at 11am at Trinity Memorial Church 22nd and Spruce Streets in Philadelphia.

  • In memory of Steve Gatschet

    We have just learned that our dear comrade, postcard illustrator extrordinaire, fellow club member and pipe smoker, Steve Gatschet, passed away on June 20th.  Our deepest sympathies go out to his family.  Smoke a good tobacco in his memory.
