Foreign Clubs



As explained on the History page, UPCA was formed to represent American pipe smokers in the Comite International des Pipe Clubs (CIPC) - in English, the International Committee of Pipe Clubs (ICPC). CIPC now has members in more than 20 countries which are listed below.  It's website also provides links to national and local pipe clubs in many countries around the world.




 

CIPC was founded in 1970 by - amongst others - Pierre-G. Müller (CH) - now an honorary member of the CIPC - and the late André-Paul Bastien (F).
 
The CIPC is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to bring together National Clubs from countries all over the world in order to establish friendly ties of mutual understanding between them, to help in their development and to organize regularly scheduled large international meetings (from the Statutes).
 
At the moment, the CIPC is uniting the following countries:

The Board of Management consists of 6 members: 4 vice-presidents (CH, DK, J, USA), a secretary-general (A), a treasurer (F) and a president (NL, not representing NL in CIPC).



World Slow Smoke Competitions

International championships are held every year. 

Every 4 years as the World Championship. Also every 4 years, but two years shifted from the WC, is the
European Championship. Every odd year in between, is the World Cup for club teams.
