The Daily Herald reports that the Pheasant Run Resort will be laying off 75% of its staff.
Could this be the beginning of the end for the Chicagoland Pipe Show?
The Chicagoland Pipe Collectors Club was unaware of this issue until the newspaper article was published. They have attempted to find out how this will impact the pipe show. According to Chuck Martin, "No one at the property has any information to share, and the management company isn't returning our calls. We are at this moment attempting to find a new venue. We will keep you appraised as events unfold."

Update 12/18/19
The Pheasant Run Resort is hitting the auction block. The auction will be held January 27-29. This brings new worries about the future of the Chicago pipe show. The pipe show's organizer, Craig Cobine, stated "I am not worried by that. The hotel has been sold a few times since 2008. New owners have always wanted our business."
While we await word of the new ownership of Pheasant Run, the Chicagoland Pipe Collectors Club is looking for alternate venues for the show.
